We've got this. Just put a goal at the end of the weekend to help you get through this--my goal is that by the end of this weekend, I will have gotten in two 3 mile runs (can't do that even with one glass of wine the night before--totally messes up my systems). I am also looking forward to mixing up some fun mocktails.

This is my third dry January and my first in which I’m wondering if I need to be sober for good. The difference in my anxiety levels after just a few days is such a relief.

3 days and I feel like my face is less puffy. I am usually pretty good during the week but I was drinking almost daily in the last 3 weeks.

I’ve officially hit the “irritability” phase.

The week is always a breeze for me, it’s the weekend that gets tricky. I’ve ordered a few herbal spirits online, I hope they make it here by Friday.

Day 4. I'm sleeping so well. I didn't want the drink today b/c I want to keep getting a good night of sleep more than a glass of wine.

How are you holding up?

DH is a daily wine drinker and on day 4. I'm a non-drinker and am happy to have him fully sober. I can tell it's hard though. He has substituted his 6pm glass(es) of wine with making dinner instead (I usually cook). I am proud of him and it hasn't even been a week yet.

Oh god, don’t even want to think about the weekend temptation.

My six year old wanted to "bake a dessert" with me after school. This always has me reaching for the wine between the stress of baking with a headstrong six year old, and then having to pretend to enjoy the end results.

I have to admit the project was less irritating without the wine. But the wine really would have washed down the result. LOL. I ate probably 50 cutie oranges instead. Ripping the peels off took the edge off the baking part.

Same here - just so much going on that makes me crave a drink. I keep reminding myself that drinking less makes me less moody, more patient, and more upbeat. Worth it with so much else going on.

Yes, day 3 for me. Barely slept the last two nights - surprisingly my energy levels are okay. Signed up for 7AM training sessions a 3x/week, so that has helped me stay away from wine so far. The fact that that’s an accomplishment is kind of sad, but I’m working on being patient and kind to myself.
