it's crazy/completely expected given current corporate "governance" that tesla has literally paid Musk billions based on his supposed unique value to the company and he is currently tanking the company

Right. Other than the X, they really aren't expensive compared to many other vehicle. People don't buy them to be showy, they buy b/c of the tech, to be eco-conscious and never having to get another oil change again.

Not really. I've seen pickups, hybrids, Mini Coopers, Mercedes, Mustangs, Toyotas, etc. with the DToM plates.

I bought a different EV because I didn't want my money going to Musk. This was a little over a year ago, when he was douchy but not insane.

I don't judge my neighbors who got a Tesla, though. They share my lefty politics, they just made a different decision about what works for them.

Goya chose to become overtly political. Elon Musk chose to become overtly political. We can choose to support their brands or not. It’s quite capitalist and American to make such decisions, actually. But owning a very environmentally friendly car and not dumping it when it's still in great condition doesn't make someone a Trumper.

Supporting the NE Patriots, vacationing in FL, eating Chik-Fil-A, having Cigna insurance, owning a Toyota (ooooh), getting a delivery from UPS, buying hardware at Home Depot...........None of these make someone a Trumper. Voting for Trump makes you a Trumper. That's it. That's all.
