They let a child watch the procedure? Weird.

After he came home.
And you're positive it was from .... the circumcision? Not just because he was a newborn and newborns cry a lot? Seems like a stretch to me.
Are you trying to say it is unlikely that this newborn baby was crying from pain? So you’re saying that cutting off a piece of your skin (forget that it’s a particularly sensitive area with insane amounts of nerve endings, let’s just say any skin) would not be painful?
It’s just as painful for babies to get the tip of their genitals chopped off as it is for anyone. They just can’t communicate how painful it is and they don’t remember it later.
I’m not even anti-circumcision really but I hate that we pretend it is not an intensely painful ordeal for a human being to go through.
You clearly don't get what it is. It is not cutting off the tip of their genital. It is cutting off extra skin that isn't necessary.
Sort of like your labia? Who needs 'em!
This is so outrageously false and stupid comparison.
It’s actually an extremely apt comparison. Inner labia are just extra skin.
Yes, please PP, explain how it is an outrageously false comparison. Maybe a better comparison would be removing the clitoral hood in newborn girls?

My ob-gyn would not do it for ethical reasons. She said if we wanted it, she would need to refer us elsewhere.
Babies are numbed beforehand. They cry for a few seconds max and then fall back asleep. I was there for the entire procedure. It's worse to get circ'd as an adult.
+1
all 3 of my boys were brought back to me within a couple minutes and not crying at all or looking like they had been crying a lot
I saw them done when I was on my pediatrics rotation in med school. They gave the babies sugar water to suck on while they did it. Most of the babies didn’t cry at all.

Well we're European, and we think circumcision is mutilation, and what's more, done at an age where consent cannot be given.
No regrets.
