All the way from California? Like seriously?

I didn't post these names and I am not Indian but I have a friend from India (like actually from India, not born in the US to Indian parents) whose name is Neetu.

Perhaps you are not familiar with the wide variety of Hindi and Sanskrit names out there.

I love when White people become experts because they know one Indian person. Love the WhiteSplaining. Yes, Neetu is a common name and not a particularly sophisticated name. It is actually a shortened nickname that has become widespread. What else? Yes, names like Pinky, Rinky, Lovely, Dolly, Honey, Baby, Lolo, BeBo, Gugi, Cookie also abound as nicknames. No one would want to name their kids these names.

Lol. My name is Neetu. Actually I have a different given name but my family only calls me Neetu. I love it! It's worked out for me despite being "not particularly sophisticated"!

Annika and Anoushka are European names.

They are also both Sanskrit names.

We named our daughter Asha and get lots of compliments on it. It's also easy to spell/pronounce.
