Yet they are increasing elementary school sizes which seems to acknowledge a future enormous increase in students. Aren't those elementary kids going to go to high school? Where will they put them, if they aren't planning a second or third or fourth high school now?
It defies logic to not build another high school now.
So why are they refusing? What do they hope to gain out of having only one over crowded high school where violence and gang activity is increasing? I don't know the answer.
It's really mild blowing. The school is currently to big and the students are suffering. The only conclusion I see to this is that city council just wants people to give up go with the flow and put their kids into private school when they reach the upper grades.

Because the people with power and money send their kids to private school.
If you read ACPS's blurb on thier high school project website it's absolutely mind blowing what thier reasoning is for why it would be racist to have 2 or 3 high schools in Alexandria. They are comparing Alexandria to Alabama. Like the demographics of a widely diverse DC suburb is any thing like the demographics of deep south Alabama. I'm so glad that Hutchings is out, but it's time to move on from his crazy thinking that just because Alexandra's original high schools 80+ years ago were racist we can't plan for the future.

You're putting words into her mouth and mine. I'm done with you, too. Bye bye.
Read the thread above.

There is the poster. I have no problem with you not sharing personal information here. But I see you needed to take another pot shot at parents who have had experiences with ACPS differing from you.

Where is the "pot shot"? I don't see it.
