Police would definitely be called and there would he an assault charge.

Same should happen here. Only the punishment is milder because of the age of perpetrator.

Solution. Police handling school discipline issues is not a great idea. They do not understand developmentally where kids are, they have the ability to tase and use excessive force all the time. The people who are crying call the police want drama and are acting out of emotion rather than thinking through the actual situation.

No. The police wouldn’t be necessary if the school would take swift action and suspend the violent kid. They won’t, so police it is. And yes, before you bother, pushing a kid from behind hard enough for them to fall and get a concussion IS violence. Stop making excuses. It’s not a good look.

Different school district and elementary not middle school but I know of an incident where a kid got angry and slammed another kid's head against the wall several times. When victim's parents weren't satisfied with the school's response the father started going to school with his child everyday to protect him. I believe the outcome was the school moved the offender to a different class and enlisted the help of staff to keep them apart so the victim felt safer. Not sure what other consequences there were for the offender but the victim's parents did not accept what they considered to be inappropriate action or non-action from admin.
