My MIL barely worked, was married to my FIL for decades, and my FIL made 1+ million every year in earned income, working for a huge company. Got his mistress pregnant and my MIL received minimum alimony for a short period of time, as the judge expected her to be on her feet financially. My FIL moved a lot of assets to the mistress and child, and my MIL was not able to recover those. They are in MD. California is a different animal.

Pretend she does not know about the affair. Do not talk to anyone.
Go visit two to three well-regarded family lawyers. Go through the intake process, but be up front that she is evaluating options and don’t pay a large retainer until she settles on one.
Strategically plan divorce. This will likely mean planning out a desired means of handling the business.
Do not discuss divorce with DH until she is ready to file.

Equal rights and all. Goes both ways.
This. A friend had to pay her husband's maintenance during the divorce proceedings. He was chronically underemployed, which was the reason for the divorce in the first place.
Why do women marry losers?

I somewhat agree but if you are going to penalize cheating then you also need to penalize a spouse who withholds sex. It's the same problem. And who needs the courts prying into whether an affair was justified because one spouse refused sex.
Lol that’s like saying you need to penalize speeding equally with unreasonably low speed limits. No one is entitled to sex, from their spouse or anyone else. The law in Virginia at least penalizes adultery, not unattractive spouses.
“He’s not entitled to sex but I am entitled to his money” 🙄
Uh. Correct? Are you confusing marriage for prostitution in which sex is exchanged for money?
Also, read the thread? The issue is he’s entitled to her money.

And I wonder if both her marriage and the potential for her prenuptial crashing is because she was so public and over-the-top with her love declaration for ex Eddie Van Halen during his passing and droning on and on and on.
Humiliation of Tom Vitale (and Eddies current wife) may have been a game changer in her divorce proceedings.
I hope Tom Vitale is awarded some compensation.
