I know many, mannnnnnnny UD grads who have gone one to do very, very well for themselves.

+1
The Delaware alums I know are impressive. I don’t know why it isn’t talked about more here, especially as an engineering option.

My kid picked UD over MDCP and VT. doesn't like college park and felt like Tech is in the boonies. Newark was a nice option.

Anyone know how the mechanical engineering program is at Delaware? UMCP’s engineering program is so hard to get into….looking for backups.

We are not fans of College Park (the area), and she did not want to go somewhere with bunches of kids from her high school.

Ooh where did she end up if you don't mind sharing! My kid is also interested in marine biology.

Not that person but have a couple of family members in marine biology. Depends on what your interest is, but I think FSU, Carolina Coastal, UCSD, and U Hawaii all ones to look at. Some of the pacific NW schools too but focused more on commercial fishery.

Holy crap the obnoxious of this board. Many would say that it’s a waste if money to pay $80k/year for a school ranked 25-50, but people do it.

Student has a 3.95 unweighted GPA but test scores are not super high. (ACT of 31, 3s and 4s on APs.). Wondering of merit scholarships are $4,000 a year or more like $20,000 a year?

DS last cycle was offered 17k per year.
4.4 gpa, 11 APs

Hmmm.. my student's weighted GPA is 4.3 but only has 8 APs and scores are not that high.
So probably not much merit aid there .

My DD, psych major, 3.5 and 1300 SAT was $2,500 annual merit aid.

My kid was comparable. We all liked it, but not enough to pay close to full price. I think it's a very nice school, and doesn't deserve the snotty remarks on this thread.

The arrogance of some of the people on this board. Like, do you hear yourself? I read this in the voice of the grandma from Gilmore Girls.
