I’m guessing I was still retaining some salt/water weight last week after the pizza and beer when I checked in last Thursday. 38 lbs and change gone now and I’m so close to that 40lb mark I can almost taste it. I have to travel for work early next week so that will be a challenge with airport food and business dinners. I’ll likely be aiming just to try to maintain next week as a result, but we shall see.
I had to buy new pants this week as none of the multitude of sizes I have in my closet fit anymore! Haven’t worn this size since roughly 2006!

I don’t ever talk about weight loss or diet in real life (as much as I’d like an accountability partner!) so I just wanted to write here I’m so proud and excited because even though it’s been an absolutely exhausting and stressful week, I lost another pound. I have not seen these numbers on the scale in at least two years. I’m only down maybe 5 lbs total but it’s so exciting to see the numbers go the right way. I really hope I can keep it up.
5 pounds is awesome OP!! Congratulate yourself. Now you know what works, and you know you can stick to it even when life throws a lot your way. Keep chipping away slow and steady.
I checked out the scale today while at the gym and saw numbers I haven’t seen since college! I’ve lost 30 pounds over the past 6 months and am going to shift into maintenance soon. The most challenging habit I’ve had to change is stress eating, or eating something quick (and unhealthy) on those busy days that are over-scheduled with work and kids activities.

The scale is down a pound or so and I haven’t seen a weight this low in a while so I think it’s real! My weight fluctuates SO much based on my cycle it’s always hard to be sure after a week. I’m jealous of you guys who are steadily losing a point more a week- I need to up my game but I’m going to be happy as long as things are going in the right direction!
*ugh a pound or more a week!
Oh man this was me yesterday and today was not so good. I was SO tired from bad sleep and a kid getting me up very early. Ate a bunch of sugar instead of anything healthy when I was starving this morning. So frustrated with myself but determined to go right back to doing better tomorrow. At least I exercised today! Fingers crossed for a much better night of sleep…
Just get back on that horse, you can do it! This stuff happens and you just have to get through it and get back on track like you've been doing before. Hang in there and good luck!
Thank you! I did do better and the scale didn’t go up at least. I had another late night with work and early morning with a kid but I’m determined not to fall back on sugar today. Any suggestions for ways to keep energy up when tired that aren’t caffeine or sugar would be appreciated!!!
Anonymous wrote:I gained 4 pounds over the weekend because of anniversary cake and eating out. Some of that weight is probably just salt/water retention. Back to the grind but I think it was worth it!
Anonymous wrote:I think an accountability partner is a good idea, but am looking for someone other than an anonymous forum. Any ideas where to find one? I'd like someone who isn't a friend or family. I did well with WW at work where the leader was the same every week - not so well with drop-in WW where the check in person changed every week.

Do periodic short bursts of jogging in place before you get tired.
Put a bit of gingerroot in herbal tea for a more stimulating drink without caffeine or sugar.

Early mornings with a kiddo sure can be rough though. Mine are older now and I'm impressed that you are losing weight with a little guy around -- kudos to you. RESPECT.
Ha, he’s 4…. I feel ridiculous for still not having lost the baby weight (and added 5-10 during the pandemic)! I have lost maybe 5 and have at least 15-20 to go. I doubt I’ll be back to my college weight ever again.
