The linen dress is great. You could use that to go out to dinner as well. Just bring a higher healed shoe

Not OP, but this dress is fairly heavy to me and would be more of an evening dress.
LOL. People just want to know if you’re an English speaking tourist. They know you’re a tourist.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Def dresses not shorts
Really? No shorts at all? I have some cute “nicer” shorts with a paper bag sort of top that look very put together. Would a pair of those be ok to mix it up?
Italians really don't wear shorts.
She’s not Italian.
Yeah, but I would hate to scream 'TOURIST' with my stupid looking shorts on a European vacation.
I pride myself on the fact that tourists often stop me and ask if I speak English, and for directions. People usually think I'm a local whenever I'm over there.

Also, I spent 13 days in Italy in April and most regretted packing tan pants. (I packed in a carry-on).
So interesting - why?? I have worn mine a bunch of times this spring/summer and find them very versatile. I’m trying to pack in a carry-on as well!!
ONE pair of pajamas….no way. Just check a bag.

I do this every night when I travel and never take more than two underwear and one bra with me (besides what I wear on the plane). If the bra isn't fully dry in the morning, I simply use the hotel hair dryer.
Sorry but at some point, I want to enjoy my vacation and not be worried about washing underwear every night. Folding up a bunch of underwear is just not that much of a space taker in a suitcase.
Not to beat this particular topic to death but I'm totally in the "wash and wear" camp here. More underwear is just more to keep track of, gross rolling it up in the suitcase dirty, etc. I usually bring it into the shower with me at the end of the day, rinse, and it's dry by morning. The space difference between 3 vs 10 pairs of underwear is equal to an extra shirt, which I find way more valuable!
So you shower with dirty underwear? That really sounds gross.

I wore pants on the plane over because I get cold but that was the only time I wore pants.
I recommend linen or cotton comfy dresses to walk around in and skirts and tops. Shorts would have been too uncomfortable in the heat.
Boden has a lot of cute linen dresses.
