Any update on this 2026 team? How did the fall season work out for them?

A key decision factor was us to go with another HS team was the size of the rosters from last year. Not unusual to see 25 or more players. Seems like a money grab to me. They should just raise their prices and take less players.

Looks like MC imploded a bit for a about 5 years (2025-2029) but has since recovered. The 2030s look like a great team and hopefully they can build on that and work to make their HS teams more attractive then the issue with the MS teams will fort themselves out.

Does NL have a 26 team?

Below HS, I think the order would be Next Level, followed by Renegades, MC Elite and then Bethesda.

Next Level is a solid program that is just one step above rec. They focus mainly on the boys. High coaching staff turnover. Girls HS program is non-existent even though it has been in existence for many years.
Bethesda is great for rec. It is parent-coached, which is fun for all. Once you go to travel, there are too many politics in the parent-coach model to be successful. No HS program, but is "merging" with Capitals.
Renegades is not Moco and not part of this analysis.
MC Elite is only for girls. Youth teams are great and the HS program is very well-respected by college players and coaches. Coaching staff turnover is not any different from NL or BLC.

Regardless of what you read here, you should reach out to each and hear what they have to say.

This is an interesting post, because several of the NL MS teams have players that left MC Elite.

Maybe at the younger years but by 7/8th grade, NL tournament placement can’t compare to other clubs, including MC. Very few older girls play for NL, and certainly almost none by high school. Maybe NL will fix this, but it will be uncharted territory and people tend to go with clubs with recruiting track records.

I cannot speak to tournament placement, but I do know that several 2027, 2028 and 2029 players left MC for NL.

At the MS level, there is a huge gulf in quality between the two clubs.

2027s: NL top of NGLL B and MC near bottom of NGLL B
2028s: NL bottom middle of NGLL A and MC near bottom of NGLL B
2029s: NL upper middle of NGLL A and MC near top of NGLL B

It’s no comparison.

26s definitely had talent - 100% blame the inconsistent coaching. Hope for the new team, the leadership gets their act together.

And it is a shame because that team had promise. One of their top players is already playing for Skywalkers.

Going back to 4th grade that team had promise. Crazy how JR ruined what could have been a gold mine for her. Many talented 26s and 27s started at MC and are now at Hero's, Skywalkers, BLC and NL. Imagine what could have been right here in Bethesda.

A lot of pride players offered spots but they are waiting to accept to see if receive offers from capital or other teams. Mc elite is a back up for most players

Inconsistent coaching. The coaches need to be in it to win it. It's not a rec carpool team.

What year is your daughter? It looks like they made offers to a few kids but they are waiting to see how this week's tryouts pan out, who accepts the MC offer and who bolts for different teams before extending offers to their "B-list" list of kids.
