My kids told me that the rumor is that about 25% of the teachers are leaving Deal after this year.
Many are teachers who have been there for 5+ years.
Not surprised at all. Treat teachers like they’re the enemy and they’re going to peace out of an already mostly thankless low paying job. You reap what you sow.

My kid talks about how her long term sub who is back filling for the Individuals and Societies teacher has not gotten paid.
My kid was discussing her teacher's health insurance coverage for fertility treatments.

I don’t think the controversy is that they’ve joined the conversation, but more so they’ve made it known at Deal so much at the kids know they’re leaving and the 4th quarter hasn’t even begun yet.

Not a surprise- none of my 8th graders teachers from 6 grade are still at Deal. For current year I know the science teacher is not returning and social studies quit in Jan. - right there you have more than 25% of teachers from the team.
Not 25% of a team, but for the entire school. 😩
I know with the pandemic, there has been more teacher attrition in general, but 25% is crazy high
