IDK. My white MC aunt (homemaker) and uncle (policeman) are Italian Catholics who live in Youngstown absolutely love him. They are pretty standard rust belt Midwestern Catholics. My aunt calls him “Timmy Ryan” and believes he’s done a lot for the area. They are culturally conservative (pro-life, could never vote for Pete Buttigieg for POTUS because a first gentleman would be “weird”). Republicans, but not Trumpy. I think he gets a piece of the MC white vote.

You can take the boy out of the holler but you can’t take the holler out of the boy.
