Returning to same “neutral” status and “territorial border agreement” with less territory is a huge win for russia and a stepping stone for further invasions and land grabs in Ukraine and elsewhere

This is the saddest thing I have read. So we literally would not be able to get out of going to war? Is there any slim chance, loophole, etc?
We could just not honor our responsibility. How do you feel about that?
I like your values and share them. Yes, war is horrible and I would dread this. But Putin and his ilk are a threat to us all and cannot be negotiated with or ignored if a NATO country is invaded. We have to honor our agreements.
I always sincerely wonder if the people posting this type of things are they themselves willing to pick up a weapon and go kill overseas. The answer is likely no — I’m assuming you’re approaching middle age, not in the best shape of your life, and have no combat or weapons experience. Don’t you think you should keep your mouth shut if it’s not you who will be doing the killing? I do.
I think the brave people of Ukraine would be very unhappy if we took this selfish attitude

Ask yourselves that, I suggest.
Is it ok that Russia invaded Ukraine? No.
But I can see why Putin did it. He and much of the non-Western world are aware of the insane power imbalance and the monopoly that the U.S. has on grabbing any resources around the world without any repreccusions for their actions.
His goal seems clear to me, to make resources for Russia and undermine the brutal rule that the U.S. has established around the world that prevents his country from becoming economically better positioned.
Sadly, Ukraine and its people are paying for the power grab of Putin's, just as many have suffered when other Empires did the same.
Just the fact that people here think the U.S. must do something shows that the U.S. is aware that its position as the dominant Empire is in danger and must do something about it shows that Putin is right.
The U.S. rules the world with its military and political, and economic power and leaves scraps for the rest.

Putin will continue to be an international pariah and will increasingly lose his grip on power in Russia for a hollow victory. Their military will have lost a ton of clout as well.
NATO will be as ironclad as ever and the US will have come out on top.
Sadly for your average Ukrainian or Russian life’s going to be pretty horrible for a long time though.

The U.S. has no business in Ukraine or in Russia, ( on the surface, meaning us, regular small people have no business in Russia)we are a self-sufficient country if we want to be. But, war is profit, and Murican industrialists who rule our country love profit.
They will kill all of Russians, Ukrainians, and Americans for a buck more.
you have it wrong. Russia has no place in the Ukraine. If Putin would just accept being the extremely wealthy oligarch that he is, thousands of people wouldlnt' have to die.
Historically speaking, Russia has more place in Ukraine than the US has in all of Europe. Putin's wealth is a non-issue.
Always look at the money. Always. From whom did he grab all that money?
How does the manner in which Putin acquired his wealth have any bearing on his invasion of Ukraine?
