Because I want the indoor mandate dropped ASAP and if I see parents masking outdoors, I assume they are likely far from supporting unmasking of kids indoors. Also, because outdoor masking is in most cases a marker of either irrational fear or virtue signaling, and I’d like to see less of either.
This does beg the question: Do you think everyone wearing a mask outside when it is not required are immunocompromised or have a high-risk family member? If not, what else are their motivations?
WHO CARES???? IT IS NONE OF MY BUSINESS AND I DO NOT CARE
I don’t care either. But I do care that my child has to wear a mask indoors, and I’m sure the person wearing a mask outdoors would seriously care if my child didn’t have to wear a mask indoor. See the irony here?
Exactly. This is exactly the point.
Well I’m the person you don’t think exists. I don’t care if your kid wears a mask inside and I still mask outside

Why are you yelling? Relax. No one is asking you to care.
My question is about social norms which have repercussions for our own children. If there are many people who are just continuing to mask outdoors when it is not required, I would like to understand why. They ALL can't be high risk or have high risk family members. So why do it? It's weird that this is such a difficult question to answer that you've resorted to yelling.
Because they want to is a sufficient answer to this.
Also what happens when your child’s teacher continues to mask?

Once again, I only care until kids can unmask indoors like adults can. Until then I care somewhat because I don't like seeing support for irrational policies. As the PP said, our kids are involved here. And yes, I am aware we are lucky we don't live in Ukraine, and this isn't the end of the world, but there is a certain urgency to it right now because it's unclear when we will ever unmask if not now when everyone else in the country is doing it and the CDC has given the green light.
Relax

Some were still in KN95s though. Also, the staff members checking the screening app outside were still masked, which frankly surprised me.
This is WOTP.
I was happy not to wear a mask at outdoor drop-off, but I couldn't have cared less if other people wanted to. Why would it please you or not what other parents were doing? You don't want to wear a mask where you're not required to wear one, great. But taking them off is also not required.

And it’s statements like this….. waiting a week or a month will do what exactly? Oh precious angel is behind…….. behind what?
There are kids in Ukraine sleeping in a train tunnel. Chill.
Why do people say stuff like this? “Children in Ukraine are suffering therefore you should mask your kids and like it”. Huh? These things have nothing to do with each other. And no, it’s not “perspective”. If anything, the perspective should be that we are blessed to have an opportunity to do right by are children, and are not.
People are outraged that people are wearing masks at drop off. Yes it’s about perspective
I’m not convinced this more than one or two people responding and saying they are emailing.
When DC removes the mandate then what will they complain about?
