It's like conservatives who think *Trump* would be bombing Russia are living out some Reagan imaginary scenario in their head back in 1982 or something.
Trump would be congratulating Putin on a job well done at this point. Probably on Fox news. Just like he did earlier this week.

I don't remember where I read this, it was a while ago, but it was an article about how Putin lives in a cage of his own making. He couldn't step down without being assassinated, and he had (literally) poisoned so many people on his way to the top that now he is paranoid about being poisoned himself.
So if you live isolated in fear of betrayal, constantly suspecting that your own countrymen are out to get you, and that isolation & paranoia continues for years, I think it would mess you up.
That is the nature of being a dictator. They eliminated so many rivals on their way up/staying on top, there is no retirement for them.

You already posted this in another thread and there’s nothing “interesting” about this. Trump spent four years putting Putin first, praising him, giving him military bases, spurning the counsel of US intelligence. Just because you never read a legitimate newspaper for four years doesn’t mean the rest of us didn’t know what he was up to (at least the public stuff; that guy is going to be screwing us over for decades to come).

Joe would tell you the good Congresswoman is exaggerating just a bit.
One of the numbers traders have been watching: U.S. crude imports from Russia averaged about 106,000 barrels a day last week. Volumes have remained muted in recent weeks after averaging zero for three weeks straight in January.
As recently as last week, some market participants were wary of taking Russian fuel oil and naphtha and sought alternatives.

Also, the US government is not buying the oil. Oil companies import oil.

If you look back at his illustrious career from bombing residential buildings across Russia, the Chechen war, all the meddling in Europe, wars in Georgia & Ukraine, and lending a hand in other conflicts, he's neither crazy nor senile. He's continuing with his modus operandi but is being more arrogant about it from all the wealth he amassed and his "success". He feels he can whatever. Is that madness? May be. But the modus operandi is the same it's been the past 30 years.
+1. I don't think he is crazy at all. His maneuvers make complete sense if you look at things from his perspective. Google "The Foundations of Geopolitics: The Geopolitical Future of Russia".
Agreed. Also, it does not matter if he is crazy or not in whatever definition we’d like to use. He’ll continue to do what he does until someone stops him. Is labeling him crazy some sort of plea for empathy? Sorry, he gets none from me. Whether he’s a mean dog or a rabid dog, put the man down. Now.
