Subject: Do you have checks? If so, when's the last time you used one?
I use about 10-12 checks a year. I prefer having a cancelled check for my records for some things.
What companies really like is CASH vs. checks. I try to pay in cash for home repairs, tips, food, even gas saves some cents. Cash is still king!

A few years ago for a contractor and an electrician. Literally been working on the same book of checks for almost 10 years.

We do too. They are set up to do electronic giving, but I think it's better for my kids to physically see it.

Just mailed two today. Life insurance and another service provider.

We have then (granted they are on the older side and a previous address) but we use them roughly once a month, sometimes a bit more frequently. We're close to needing more but moving this summer. I'm trying to hold out so the address can actually match lol.

I wrote dozens of checks yesterday. I’m the trustee of multiple trusts. All were for tax related matters.

We use one check per month to pay HOA fees. My husband refuses to pay any other way because other ways all incur fees and he's morally opposed to those.

Sent one for yard work today. I have had repair people prefer them to avoid the fees so I like to help them out. Same for donations.

I use paper checks to pay the rent. I could just send them a check via my credit union's bill pay, but that takes three days. Writing a check is just more convenient.

I wrote a check earlier this week to pay an annual bill. It takes too long for it to be processed if I pay it through the bank.
My kid's math tutor prefers to be paid via check, so I write a check weekly to the tutor.
What's the big deal about paying by check?
And yes, credit card fess are high and they hurt a small business.

Anonymous wrote:OP, you've also heard of money orders, right? They still exist, too. Just "checking."
Not OP but we had a tenant who went through a few months sending rent in money orders instead of checks. I hadn’t seen one before that since I worked at Peoples.

I write a monthly check to the daycare provider and pay for the occasional home repair service with checks. I ordered a box a few years ago and still have plenty left.
