I think a humble brag for I serve my kids really healthy food and other parents are not!

I have 3 kids and have hosted tons of play dates. I just offer what I would give to my kids. It may be chicken nuggets, pizza, sandwiches, chicken and rice. They can eat or not. I also always offer fruit and snacks.

For those of us from other cultures also, it's not always as simple as frozen pizza or cold cuts. We grew up on dal and rice and my parents served it to us even when friends were over.

When kids come to my house, ages 6-10 mostly, I offer:

Naan and dip, or Naan pizza
Pita chips and dip
Yogurt
Toast with butter and jam
Crackers and cheese
Fruit bowl for them to choose from

Hopefully op got it figured out two years ago. 😉

Usually I throw in a frozen (plain cheese) pizza or chicken nuggets, and serve with whatever fruit I have in the fridge and some baby carrots/dip. Most kids will eat that.

I host little kids often. Kids are really are a picky bunch when you have a few together! Something like a turkey or cheese sandwich can be a fail if it’s the wrong bread choice. I’ve found the most success in offering a snacky lunch- basically everything separate. Hummus, veggies, olives, nuts, cheeses, turkey, mini meatballs, crackers, chips, fruit, etc.

I would ask ahead what kids typically eat and try my best to accommodate but if not - have friends they can snack on but at the end of the day not your problem if they only eat crap. I wouldn’t set the example of bad food in my home for my kids.

Why did you bump a 2 year old thread just to complain?

Bagels with cream cheese and fruit are popular with my kids' friends. Or just regular sandwiches.
