West Coast and mountain state tech and energy hubs are bigger draws for expat Texans
That’s the point. You see Michigan swag it seems everywhere.
My point is that you *don't* see Michigan swag all over Los Angeles or Seattle or Park City or Phoenix. You do, however, see so much UT burnt orange.
That’s BS. Michigan has far more alumni in CA than Texas. Texas grads stay in Texas at a much higher rate.
shrug. About half of all living Michigan alum live in Michigan.

The rest are along the Amtrak corridor for the most part.
Data box: Where are U-M alumni?
Where the people are: Top 10 states
Michigan: 211,025
California: 41,072
Illinois: 26,374
New York: 25,360
Florida: 16,422
Ohio: 14,136
Texas: 11,908
Massachusetts: 10,632
Virginia: 10,344
Maryland: 9,704
the article says that 40% of Michigan alum live in Michigan and "It's clear, however, that local business leaders are worried the state's brightest minds are leaving Michigan. A lot of the young talent is leaving the state," ForeSee Results CEO Larry Freed said at Gov. Rick Snyder's recent economic forum. "The talented workforce is in high demand, and there’s not enough of them.”
The article is 8 years old. Semi-worthless.
how so? it's an old article, but as a Michigan native I don't think anything has changed at all since it was written. maybe exact numbers are different, but Michigan grads leaving Michigan is still a huge issue the state struggles with. if anything, I'd hypothesize it's sped up in the last 8 years.

False.
I've lived in 3 of the 4 cities I listed and you have not.
