Very different and similar: After Life w/ Ricky Gervais with deals with grief and befriends, and has absolutely spectacular chats with, Penelope Wilton (Isobel Crawly, Downton Abbey) (the very best scenes of the series).

I loved the last two episodes SO much. I love that Sam and Joel told each other this season how much they appreciate each other. I will miss Joel’s laugh. I’m sad it’s over

Just finished and I truly, truly appreciate this show so much! It is so funny, original, and profound, and it is one of those rare shows where I wish I could just keep having the characters in my life forever. I loved how unglamorous everyone is and yet how the show captures each person’s light and shows you their value and worth.

They were both dealing with deep stress, sadness, grief. Also the small town culture of socializing around alcohol is very real. It was notable that Sam was open to basic exercise and Tricia was killing it in her career renewal. They're still growing.

This is the best show. I love how even Trish evolved over time. That actress deserves an Emmy, her rage scenes in the hotel when she gets and STD are amazing. I would describe the show as “small”- it’s very contained and there are no major plot points and drama, it’s just a phenomenal point in time of a group of small town friends.
