Makes me wonder because it seems obvious that one thing that would really improve DC is to break the stranglehold the Democratic Party has on city government.

DC is the most educated city in the country. Full stop. Not sure what you mean by “educated”. Do you not believe in education? Is the word of “Q” enough for you?

Do you live in DC? If not, you can STFU about what we need. And if you do, I prey to god you aren’t in my neighborhood.

DP but live in DC. Ann Arbor and San Jose are more educated than DC

False. Both Georgetown and Alexandria were cities that predated the founding of the District of Columbia. The economies of both cities centered around their ports and trade. Maryland in particular was once the largest tobacco producer of all the colonies. You should take a trip down the St. Mary’s.

Actually the economies of Georgetown, especially, and Alexandria relied on the slave trade.

I am a real estate agent doing an open house in Arlington. So far, 9 people arenfrom DC and want to move because of bad schools and high crime. I guess they don’t mind not having a mask mandate.

Our liberalism has gotten:

- Universal Pre-School
- Universal Paid Leave
- New Mom UBI Pilot
- Free Public Transportation for Kids
- Highest LEED Environmental certification in the country
- Extremely high percentage of commerce and mixed used development
- Universal public testing and vaccination for a pandemic
- Highest levels of protections for residents in a pandemic including moratorium laws and vaccine passports

Meanwhile our neighbors just got stripped of a mask mandate. I love DC.

You can also boast of

- universal preschool and Fred transportation because you have so many parents who cannot parent or pay for kids
- commercial section that is dying on the vine and resultant loss of tax revenue and retail that is fleeing
- are you sure that the new mom program is not a guaranteed payment to low income moms rather than universal to all moms
-LEED certifications just mean empty office buildings are cheaper to run until they default
- thousands of cases of Covid and 1300 deaths so you need public testing and vaccinations
- highest levels of protections for those who adhere to the moratoria and vaccine passports

Not having a mask mandate doesn’t mean you cannot wear one.

As a fifth generation Washingtonian, I also live Washington (we don’t call it “DC”) bit excusing the city’s problems like homicides, violent crimes, and a high poverty is not cured by free bus rides.

Curious why you want to live in a place that flabbergasts you

Is DC even more liberal than other cities? I don't think it is. Leadership over the past decade+ has been more technocrat-y than super liberal.

It's easy for highly educated areas to elect moderate or conservative-leaning politicians but it's hard with a big R by your name because the party has made maligning cities and educated people central to its pitch. Why would I vote for someone who says I'm not a "real" American? A latte snowflake? "Truly evil?" Etc.

Better educated and black.

Conservatives tend to be less educated and more fearful about things they don’t understand, which is pretty much everything. I am not at all being snarky.

OP, try and flip that question on its head. What would a narrow-minded conservative politician who believes in small government and low taxes have to offer a city like DC? Lower crime? You know that requires taxes and spending to make it happen, right? And you know that Republican-run cities like Jacksonville have not done a great job on crime, either, right?

As compared to uneducated rubes who have no education? I don't even know how to respond to this. You "do your research" and determine that consuming horsepaste or drinking urine is a solution to COVID? That voting for a lifelong conman is a good solution for President? Yes, we get it.

Anonymous wrote:DC literally wouldn’t exist without government. And the more the government spends, the richer DC residents get. So it makes sense that they’re pro big government and pro big government spending. Self preservation.

That is actually more true of several red states than it is of DC.
