Yes, I love playing the piano and scrapbooking. I also like to bake vegan cakes and have become quite good at it. I started doing it out of necessity since my child has milk and egg allergies. Now i love finding recipes, trying them out, and perfecting them.

Live music. COVID has put a bit of a damper on that. 9:30 Club is my happy place.

Golf. Before Covid, reading. With Covid and wfh came longer work hours and more time educating my kids. So the reading was cut. Someday…

In non-covid times, I consider myself to be a foodie. DH and I always try to find the best restaurants, and travel and food experience go hand in hand. We must have been pretty serious because my DS15 is a foodie too. I'm a strong home cook (not MasterChef strong, but good food comes out of my kitchen).

Are you holding on to them to eventually sell, or is this something that you hand down to your children? It always fascinates me how valuable these cards are! I've also heard old Playboy mags are valuable.

The intent hopefully is to pass these down a couple generations. I also have civil war antiques and autographed baseballs and jerseys that are worth quite a lot. It is a passion of mine!

Classes, you tube, etc?

I randomly took a watercolor class for fun and it turned out that I had some aptitude for it. I took a few additional classes and I bought and worked my way through a variety of technique-based books. I'm fairly advanced at this point but I still enjoy taking occasional painting workshops. I'm not a big fan of YouTube painting tutorials because they tend to be more of a paint-by-number experience where you copy individual strokes. For me, learning from responsive humans is best, followed by books.

I make my own greeting cards using up cycled ephemera. How’s that for a niche hobby? It’s so relaxing but messy and I don’t make as many as I should - I guess my work is custom or bespoke!

I also garden and do genealogical research. Lots of varied interests, few hobbies.

I have many hobbies I’d love to have more time to peruse, but I have young kids, so I fit in what I can. I enjoy taking ceramics, gardening, reading, restoring furniture (I taught myself to reupholster arm chairs), and can do sanding/painting/wood patching/etc. I like antiquing and estate sales, I enjoy reselling things. I just took up skiing and I love it, so that’s going to be a great winter hobby. My husband also has plenty of hobbies. He skis, fishes, golfs, reads, etc. I don’t have any concerns about sitting around all day bored when I can retire (in 22 years).

Thank you so much! I also work a professional role full-time so carving out the time and energy to pursue fermentation education as a hobby-turned-hustle has also sharpened my planning and time management skills too

I jump from hobby to hobby. I plan and sync christmas light shows to music for several months during the year. I just started guitar lessons. I enjoy building furniture or doing home diy projects. I'd like to take dance lessons, but they interfere with kid sports and another class I take. I work full time and my husband is retired. He has no hobbies but watching television. I always think the wrong person retired in our family.
