Some of you have lost your minds.
+1. If my kids get sick, I will keep them home. I will absolutely not be testing them. Testing and isolating for ten days for a cold is insane.
Because the child who catches it from your child may have worse symptoms? Selfish pricks.

Do I tell FX Health? I tell the school but then what do I need to get back to school and how long do I have to stay out. I am so confused and cannot find the rules anywhere??
The HD doesn’t care about your at home test. Fill out the online attendance form for your school. They will call you if they want more info. Type in something like “Jane tested positive for Covid and will be out of school on …. This will be ten days from when her symptoms began (or the positive test). I will contact yi if there are any changes.”
That’s almost exactly what I sent to the school for my child and they followed up with a phone call, mostly just asking if he was okay and how he was feeling. We weren’t interested in streaming and he contacted his teachers directly since he’s older.
Thanks! I just want to understand. If the at home test comes up positive, we keep her out 10 days? And then she just goes back at day 10 no questions asked?
What do we do if she is sick with no positive test? We just keep her out until she is better - 3, 5, whatever days and send her back, no questions asked?
Really, it’s okay. Tell the school by email or by a phone call that you are keeping them home ten days. Send your kid back after that. There isn’t a form.
The only form I ever had to fill out was when one kid was sent home with symptoms. They gave me a form and I had options and a paper to fill out before returning. When my kids actually had Covid, there was no form and they just needed to stay home the ten days. Someone from the school will contact you for sure if they want more info.

"FCPS will adopt the new guidance with one exception:
FCPS will adopt CDC’s recommendation for a five-day period of quarantine for students and staff.
FCPS will adopt CDC’s recommendation for a five-day period of isolation for staff.
FCPS will NOT adopt CDC’s recommendation for isolation for students as we are unable to implement the required physical distancing protocols during meals. FCPS students with COVID- 19 will need to continue to complete a ten-day isolation period.
Return Guidance for Students with COVID-19
Students who are COVID-19 positive are able to return to school when ALL of the following criteria are met:
Student completes at least 10 days of isolation from symptom onset for symptomatic students or 10 days since testing positive (day test administered) for COVID-19 for asymptomatic students; AND
Student is fever free for 24 hours without fever-reducing medication; AND
Student’s symptoms have improved; AND
Student submits the FCPS Isolation Letter with the return date to their attending school"
