I'm 5'1" and many of the patterns overwhelm my frame.

Heck no… Look like the rest of the Minions at some beach wedding, country club function, or private school Mom?

Tuckernuck has a resort section with some beachy dresses:

I need bra like swimwear and Feya is the best for that.

It’s OK. Not everyone has a Jackie Kennedy body type.

That’s probably supposed to be insulting, but I’m 5’3” and weigh 110 lbs, so feel pretty darn good about my body. Still wouldn’t wear the clown clothes. Sorry you feel so strongly about wearing garish things.

I returned to Lily this winter bc they brought out a ton of stuff that wasn’t floral and was super cute - blouses, sweaters, pajamas, etc. none of them would you guess are Lilly

I was a long time (over a decade) Melbourne east coastal Florida resident before moving to DC 5 years ago. I routinely saw Lilly everywhere, and I was not in a touristy or big retirement area. Generally worn by anyone btw 20s-50s. But preferred by the slighty wealthier demographic.. I wear Lilly but prefer their better quality older lined dresses. I try to get solids as a lot of the prints are just too much.

My grandmother in Florida wears this brand. The brand has lost appeal.

I went to UVA and had a couple of dresses - they were very in! I still like the patterns and will occasionally buy things like a planner, a tumbler, etc. If I was going on a long beach vacation or cruise I definitely might buy one.

I rarely if ever see them in dc though.

The quality has gone way down hill- now really only cute on little girls in pigtails and bows on vacation. Those neons even look dated on tan sorority girls. I do think there is a summer/resort wear market not being met for the 45 plus woman. Need something a bit hipper than Brooks Brothers or Talbots but not as twee as Lilly/Kate Spade. I would love some knee length pique sheaths in solid colors with maybe some bright trim. Or a flattering sleeveless stretch poplin fit and flare shirt dress that is midi length, belted with a voluminous skirt- not some limp crap with a tie belt and gaping buttons at the bust. I want summer dresses you can either wear with a regular bra or a t- strap bra.

Depressing.

Yes, trying to be attractive, cool and age appropriate in Summer is often depressing. If you’re lucky you’ll grow older and face similar sartorial challenges someday.

PP here. I am 42 and not trying to be snarky. By "depressing" I mean, yes, I agree and understand and I hate it.

I really like Boden
