LOL. Who buys a corvette?
I’ll just buy a Porsche for myself.
A former 75 year old co-worker of mine had 3 of them.
Sounds like someone with serious issues.

A Corvette is pretty much the textbook midlife-crisis car purchase for men, no?
I don’t think there’s any crisis element to it at all. You work your ass off for 30 years, put a couple kids through college, and then when all the paying for stuff for other people is over with, you treat yourself to something fun.
That’s a “crisis” in your eyes ?
Sounds more like petty jealousy to me. Which is weird, because why be jealous of a corvette? There’s lots of them, and they’re actually in the realm of affordability when it comes to extravagances. Pick something else. A private jet or a yacht. A Corvette is too common.
I'm a car guy, so there's no need to convince me about the argument above. I'd love to get a C6 Z06, gut it, cage it, and track it once the kids are older. A GT3 would be a great track car as well, but that's not going to happen. I only mentioned the "midlife crisis" angle to rebut the poster who said nobody buys Corvettes. Seeing that some have likened the OP's husband's lusting after a Jeep as a midlife crisis (I disagree), that angle seemed to work for a rebuttal.
Gotcha.
I had a C6 and got my SCCA race license so I could do track days at VIR and SP. It was a lot of fun. Met my wife-to-be at VIR.

I feel bad for the woman married to this dumbass who wants to drive a car that kills the planet just because he likes it.
How does it kill the planet?

“Kills the Planet.” What a pantload! There are an enormous number of other pollution sources, and passenger cars are equipped with very effective emissions equipment. Do some research.
No one needs a Jeep. No one needs any kind of offroad vehicle. They need to be outlawed.
