Pp here. No, not after that incident. My father is a predator but even so, probably best to avoid these situations in the first place.

So if we go out to dinner on a date, we'll both drink. I would not drive a sitter home after that. Sitter is responsible for getting herself home, but I'll pay for her cab/rideshare.

10 years ago it was dad or they paid for a cab or I drove myself.

30 years ago, the dad always drove me home. Always smelled like liquor. So uncomfortable.

I've offered, but our teenaged sitter always calls her parents to pick her up if it's too late for her to walk home (she lives a few streets over).

It was almost always the dad who drove me home when I babysat 30 years ago. I once offered to help find a sitter for a family when I had a conflict and my friends all said yes and then cancelled immediately when their parents found out. It turns out the dad was a sex offender (former teacher who had slept with students). My parents knew and apparently still assumed it was perfectly safe for him to drive me home.
