+1 exactly.. I put up another link from the insurance industry that showed VA drivers were actually worse than MD drivers. I also stated that VA drivers were some of the most aggressive and angry drivers, and I'm originally from out west.
Some folk from VA love to come on here to complain a lot about MD drivers. I think they have anger issues and like to complain about other people a lot.
I completely agree. I'm also from out west (LA) and was shocked by how bad Virginia drivers are when I moved here. They seem to like to monitor the roads and engage in passive aggressive behavior like tailgating, which is why I'm not surprised they have the "rudest" moniker. They're actually very lucky that they dont live in a place with ACTUALLY aggressive drivers, like Los Angeles. They would be cut off and tailgated right back and put in their place. In my observation Maryland drivers were remarkable tolerant with the Virginian nonsense in a way many other places would not be
ha.. PP here.. I'm also originally from LA, and ITA, some of those aggressive VA drivers wouldn't dare pull some of that sh1t out in LA.
Yep. It would absolutely not be tolerated!
y'all are just hollywood p*ssies. try driving in NYC, Philly or Boston - you'll be terrified to ever venture out of the far right lane

I am not seeing the difference between what LA and VA drivers do in this situation. You say that it is dangerous that VA drivers "monitor the roads and...tailgate" so out west those driers would be...tailgated. Sounds like the drivers out west are also monitoring the behavior of others if they cut you off and tailgate you because of something you did

Because most times there’s a reckless moving violation on the road, the plates are Maryland. Maybe it’s because they are so far from everything that they feel they need to speed and so forth?
Doesn't mean they are FROM Maryland. Maybe they learned to drive elsewhere.
Take your clown show elsewhere, op.

In the last 3 days alone I’ve had Maryland drivers try to cut me off while turning in a turn lane, drive 15 miles under the speed limit, and blow past me from behind at a STOP SIGN. I am consistently in awe of how dangerous and aggressive their driving is and I live in DC!
Agree with this and also live in DC so am not in either camp.
VA drivers are pretty aggressive too but they seem to at least have reasonable driving skills and mostly use their turn signals.
MD drivers are just completely terrible - just situationally totally disengaged with everything that is going on. Selfish, arrogant, poor skills, poor awareness and just completely uninterested in contributing to civility on the roads.
Just last night I was in the left lane on a 3 lane DC street and the MD driver in front of me decided when he reached the intersection that he wanted to make a right and without using his signal cut into the center lane but could not get into the far right lane because traffic was flowing and just sat there for the entire 50 second light cycle completely stopping traffic in 2 lanes so no one in those two lanes got through the light and his stunt also left cars in the intersection behind us which then kept anyone on the perpendicular street from getting through the next light cycle. The kicker was this was in a part of DC where all he had to do was go 1 block and make a right turn at the next corner and he probably would have gotten there more quickly but hey why be considerate when you can inconvenience everyone!
Then not two minutes later I was behind another MD driver who with pedestrians crossing barely slowed making a right on red at a no right on red intersection of course with no turn signal. I ended up behind the guy a couple of blocks later (one thing these dumb MD drivers will never get is that their aggressive driving never gets them anywhere faster and just causes more accidents) and this same guy is making a right turn on a green light (again no turn signal) and with a line of cars behind him and no pedestrians in sight just comes to a complete stop and sits there for like 10 seconds before making the turn.
I see people from MD do dangerous stuff behind the wheel every time I am out in DC whether walking, driving or biking and a couple of the craziest things I have seen on road trips in other parts of the country were done by MD drivers.
