Nice but unfortunately the physics kids have not been supported by the school in a similar fashion

Some clarifications:

The person who disappeared is a guidance counselor, not the college counselor. He was assigned half of the senior class (~200 students). A 200:1 ratio for guidance counselors is still crazy.

There is one college and career counselor for the whole school. Also crazy.

The guidance counselors write recommendations. The college counselor does not. Students also need recommendations from two teachers (usually recommended that they're teachers who teach math, science, English, or history).

Yes, let’s punish kids in the college admissions process for a staffing issue completely out of their control. Why are people so punitive? The people most affected by this situation are the kids who aren’t getting physics instruction, not your precious snowflake who might be in an admissions pool with them. Jesus.

NP who agrees with PP but to answer the question- there is no way someone is telling college admissions officers that Wilson HS doesn’t have a physics teacher. Just think about that idea on a large scale and how crazy that is.
