An MBA is nothing special. Many people have them and most aren’t making even 6 figures. Most people wouldn’t notice a Cartier watch- at all. But a Chanel bag isn’t exactly inconspicuous

I was anti Chanel bag, but I take it back! The chain wallet is great idea. It isn’t as expensive and with not being a daily use bag (date nights, evenings out) that could easily last decades.

I would not assume that. I grew up upper middle class in a nyc suburb and did not have diamond studs until DH got them for me for an a gift when I was about 35. My parents would not have bought diamonds for me (pearls, yes, if I had wanted them which I never have, haha o the culture clash on that, although think it is also age related not just geography), and I do not buy myself expensive jewelry.

I think diamond studs or the Burberry trench are special gift ideas for a new grad who will be in a professional setting.

I got diamond studs when I graduated from law school. They're still my favorite earrings.
