A new Highlander is literally $56 off the lot. And that’s only if you can find a dealership that has one, and you get what you get, no choosing your colors or interior options etc. if they have one on the lot that’s what u get
I *literally* just drove a new AWD Highlander XLE off the lot for 35k. Paid cash. Financing 60k is absurd.
I call BS. The MSRP on 2021 AWD XLE is $41K+. If you bought the car in VA, you would have had to pay approx $33,000 + tax, title, fees. There is no way you got a $8,000 discount off MSRP right now, unless you forgot to mention a trade in or downpayment.
I'm in the market and just want to know where. Highlanders are one of the cars that we're looking at and getting anything more than a token amount off of MSRP seems hard right now.
I call BS too. We’ve been car shopping too. No Highlanders for under 40k.
+1. You can barely find a used one.
Sorry not sure what to tell you. It’s true. Albeit not in Virginia - moved south recently and there’s loads of them here.

Like you, we wanted new & we wanted three rows. Our monthly payment is about $750. It’s fine. It’s our only car payment. Obviously we wouldn’t have done it if we couldn’t afford it! $1000 a month does seem jaw dropping but I assume you can afford it.
Anonymous wrote:This is the OP. The used car market is trash right now and used cars and certified used cars are the same price as the new cars, so it didn’t make sense for us to buy used. We also had bought our old cars used and wanted a new car. I know it’s not an ideal time to buy, but with 2 kids we had to for space issues. And for those you asking why I’m shocked or if I can do math, Yes I can do math, and yes I knew the price would be $1,000, I guess what am I trying to say is it just sucks that it costs so much and I’m a bit nervous about since I’ve never owned a new car with payments before.

it's 2021. not 2019.
I just did a search on DARCARS Bowie, where I bought my CRV, for used CRVs and Odysseys. Found several 2020, 2019 and 2018 used models in good condition in the $35-40 range. Some of them were at the Frederick or Silver Spring locations, but point is: you can find a good-quality used vehicle in the greater DC area for $35-40. No need to buy a new $60K vehicle and complain about it.
Sorry to burst your fantasy bubble.
