Ok I’m super conservative and normally tell everyone to get married. But in this case, don’t marry him. It’s just very clear.

You already know he doesn’t have enough funds himself or plan. And now the parents. Live as fiancée and enjoy each other. Keep assets separate!!

If you are that concerned about protecting assets and the potential trauma of divorce, wouldn’t it be better just to live together as partners? What purpose does the marriage ceremony serve under these circumstances other than a gift grab?
