I wouldn’t read too much into standings this early. For example, NC Courage 04 has not won a game yet. I doubt they are really a bottom 3 team. They’ve probably just had a tough start. Some teams have only played 3 or 4 games.

03/04 NC Courage has a different agenda. They are focused on playing a certaing style that doesn't always translate to a lot of goal scoring. Several on that team are actually leaving for college in a couple months, so I don't think winning games matters to them anymore.

1. You don’t have a clue what Courage’s agenda is.
2. Everyone single committed player is playing. Any suggestion that they no longer care and aren’t really trying is a lie.
3. The 2023 on the 04/03 team are one graduation year ahead of your precious 06s.

Remember - Your 2024 06 is playing at a lower level than the 2023 04 and 2024 05 who are primarily playing agains older kids.

Because of this, you 2024 06 looks better than they really are. Soon enough, it will all even out and then you’ll find out the truth.

This is some of the dumbest analysis I have ever read. You cannot compare club teams in two different age groups.

I’m comparing recruit classes which is how you better start looking at things.

The vast majority of 06s are in the class of 2024.

There are many 05s in the Class of 2024 that would dominate if placed on an 06 team.

It’s called perspective

looks good because they are playing against kids their age or younger.

And yet that won't happen until a composite year at U19. Until then it is birth year and not school year. Colleges will look at all kids within the graduating class to suit their needs.

2006 - VDA
2005 - FCV
2004/2003 - FCV and Arlington depending on who they play

Not many good players have left other than one to Richmond. Everyone else that left was asked to leave or decided to because they weren’t going to get playing time.

Arlington is last place (14) in the division at 0-4-1 with a -7 GD.

Their one tie was against the second to last place team; South Carolina (13) who was previously beat by Richmond, VDA and BRYC.

This is why not a single reader should take any of this serious. Absolute rubbish analysis

Who cares? They are both kick and run teams. Not good soccer.

You've never watched 06 VDA. They are so fast, other teams look like they are literally standing still on the pitch

But that doesn't make for good soccer.

What are you talking about? They make more passes in 1-minute than other teams do in 10. They are full possession keeping team that looks for space, finds it, and can beat you crossing in or driving right at the defense. You'll almost never see them just kick the ball and hope a teammate find it. All purposeful passing with shots on goal. Again, until you've watched, you don't know. As for playing FCV, legit, ask their HC why they won't even agree to a scrimmage even though they are constantly asked.... there's only one reason: abject fear.

I don’t get it. Abject fear of what? Losing? FCV folks, can you comment on why your coaches won’t set up a friendly?

How about Bethesda 06G? Has VDA played them recently? Also, why is VDA 06G so good and the other VDA ECNL Girls age group teams are by and large average? Different coach or just got lucky with the set of players?

You have a lot to learn. You don’t have a clue what average is.

I see you avoided / deflected my question. Just answer the question.

I didn’t deflect. I answered by making the statement.

Everything is relative. A average NFL team will beat Alabama who is a top college team. A average NWSL team will beat UNC.

Let me give you an example.

NC Courage 03/04 have yet to win a game. They have 3 ties to VDA, Loudoun, McLean

Here are some of the current commits on the team (with a lot more to come). So you tell me….is this your average? Because that’s the average team that the average NOVA club is playing……

Class of 2022
UNC
Florida State
Wake Forest
Louisville
NC State
Davidson
South Florida
Fordham
Charlotte
Mason
Minnesota
Georgia
UNC Wilmington

Class of 2023
UNC
Duke
VT

Ha. You just did it again. I didn’t ask about college recruits. Let me repeat the questions: How about Bethesda 06G? Has VDA played them recently (and implied, what was the outcome)?

And, I will restate my other question: why is the 06G team so much better in the ECNL standings than many of the other VDA girls ECNL teams?

I would never take too much stock in the performance of a aging out team. Often times committed players either sit out or sacrifice minutes for any players left who are not committed. Many kids also realize this is the last season and some either move on emotionally and mentally to the next chapter and some are better at focusing on the here and now.

Also, these are often composite teams of former 03's and 04's. Bottom line is they are rather unpredictable and most kids are just trying to enjoy their senior year of high school and club soccer takes a back seat.

VDA 06 is great just like other clubs have great teams, but others are just okay or bottom. All ages have different top teams from different clubs. Ebbs and flows. Only difference is I'd say - and as rankings suggest - that VDA 06 is one of the top teams in the country, not just the conference. There isn't a team they wouldn't hang with or flat out beat.

VDA 06 has had 3 different coaches.

Just one coach. At games, VDA reps 3-5 coaches on the sideline, depending on who's there also waiting for their team's games or after their game. Every coach knows all the girls on each team. No team is going to have 3 coaches, don't be silly. The club has a keeper coach and each team one HC.
