I know several multi-millionaire/billionaire families and "the first generation makes it, the second generation spends it, and the third generation blows it "it generally true except if there is SO much money and decent controls they can't really blow it, but I wouldn't say that third generation is either happy or anywhere near well adjusted. At that level of wealth it does seem to be a bit of an albatross and they don't seem to integrate into "normal society" very well even amongst other wealthy people. The educated UMC seems downright poor and perspective is really skewed. Most of these I have known have been sort of aimless, some with mental health issues, and "the money!" has been almost like a third person in every relationship they have had. IDK, as a PP said most probably wouldn't trade places with normal UMC me (I don't think they would know how...) but they do have (generally unrelatable!) problems.
