As a result of the changing times, ECNL should allow FCV to play. This enables top Clubs in the area to play many competitive games with little travel. Then clubs can travel for regional and national showcases to play outside of the local area.
It has been great for the GA and ECNL teams to scrimmage each other this past year. This is what local families want. To stay local and play meaningful games.
No club has a rockstar team in every age group. The Metro area has enough soccer players where 6 localish clubs could be ECNL members with their top team playing in ECNL.
The egos of these club owners is ridiculous. I am tired of the turf wars. Let Arlington and FCV be ECNL members. The better competition should be desired by all local clubs. I know that Arlington is already in ECNL. Now let in FCV too and there will be a great local region for competition that all players and families should welcome. It should be about the kids and playing soccer, not egos.

Didn’t the 05’s recently play/lose to Bethesda?

I’m going Tophat, NEFC.............
TopHat has some of the same history FCV does. Maybe not a deep seated. Who it should be is Dash, SC Wave and TopHat, but again not sure TopHat will get the offer especially since they will want to bring both their teams. Perhaps if they keep their Navy team in the GA. My guess is a couple more clubs that Joined as regional league teams around the country and have had success will also switch to full time members as well.
