So what? Why do you hate America so much?
America is amazing! Missouri is not.

I really wonder if these people have been to many universities. DH went to Yale and I also thought New Haven and the Yale campus was a pretty awful place.

It must be because UVA is one of the most unattractive campuses I’ve ever seen. I just don’t get the love for that one. Good school, but definitely not a beautiful campus.
If you just drive through UVA, it doesn't give the best impression. You have to walk around the Lawn area.
I was at UVA this week for orientation. Campus is beautiful.
My kid (OOS) adored UVA campus, and I thought it was quite beautiful. I see people on DCUM disparaging UVA; I can’t wrap my head around that.

Wellesley (heavily wooded—felt like Robin Hood would drop out of a tree at any moment)
Richmond (very clean and well-maintained; spouse said “This is what a college SHOULD look like”)
Indiana (trees perfectly interspersed with nice buildings)
Texas Tech & Oklahoma State (surprisingly)
OMG! You did not just say Texas Tech in Lubbock, Texas is a beautiful university!!! It has been rated as the most heinous Universities by several different publications including Sports Illustrated.
On a good day, the smell from the cattle feed lots sits on the ugliest campus in the US all day! Nothing quite like it in the US!!!!!
Go see it for yourself, dipshit.
Did you just call me "dipshit"? You are funny! I grew up in Texas and Texas Tech might be the armpit of America! Do you deny the fact that the smell of the the cattle feed Loys always rests on campus? Do you deny the fact that Texas Tech has continously has been named as one of the ugliest campuses in the US? Show me something otherwise!

For LACs, it's probably Williams.
For university environments, I'll join the chorus on UC Santa Cruz. Love the redwoods.

It's bitterness because it is so difficult now to get into; it's relatively small compared to other flagships; and some parents (like us) are sad their kid isn't even a contender so there's no point in even applying. And sometimes the nasty comments are from students at rival schools: VT and UMD
