I also agree that Kevin’s behavior towards Madison was so rude and nobody said a word... did Kevin even apologize afterwards?

Ha I haven't even thought of that, totally! So glad you guys hated it as much as I did. I hated everything about this episode. their constant whining like they're the only family with problems in the world is getting to be a bit much.
I mean they were so rude to Madison, Kevin was the one who was mean but nobody stood up for her after she was such a good friend to Kate? Ridiculous. So bizarre that Miguel didn't tell Madison that Kate had the baby - what!
"This family stays"??? oh yeah so all those families who have the sense to leave and get some rest and have some food and then come back to the hospital, we're just complete jerks who don't give a sh*t. Ok then.
Yeah, the Madison thing was just so, so weird. No one said anything to counter Kevin’s rudeness! Who does that? They were all insufferable.

That was the end. The preveiws showed Sophie (?) calling out to Kevin.
The best part of the show was Kate’s unmade and a bit blotchy red face at the end — she looked like a real mom.
And the resemblance of her and teenage Kate are uncanny.
And I’m getting tired of Miguel always looking like a dope on a rope.
Poor Miguel. That stupid game, and Toby’s “joke” at the end![]()

I mean yeah, most shows that revolve around a family are literally all about that family. They were all tired and stressed by the current situation and all their baggage. It’s a drama, there has to be some stand around and yelling, otherwise it wouldn’t be interesting
But is wasn't interesting....
Right. I can overlook a show makeing up reasons for the entire cast being at the hospital for days. But there were just so many other shortcomings. And nothing of great intrigue.

I mean I kind of suspected thats where they were going as they kept focusing on it but I thought someone else was going to ask for his water or something.
At one point they show her reaching for the bottle looking thirsty and she takes a sip.

YES. So mad.
I meant "all so" but you got my point. What IS Randall's problem these days? I want his mother to wallop him. After she wrings Kevin's neck first.
I’m having a hard time getting past the stupidity of the city council storyline. Two hour drive each way? Who does that? And who votes for that?
I thought he was going to propose moving the whole family to Philly. That would make more sense.
I really thought he was going to tell Beth he'd decided against being councilman and was going to take a more traditional job closer to home because he didn't want Beth to have to give up her dream job. But no... that didn't happen.
So he could let down an entire community and raise three daughters on a part time dance teacher salary?

PP here ^^^. Meant to add that I also thought he was going to tell Beth that he'd decided to be a SAHD so that the kids would always have a parent available and Beth could still teach dance. I really, really thought that's what he was going to say.
Yep I was expecting the same
Anonymous wrote:The show made everyone unlikeable in this episode except Miguel, Madison and Rebecca. Not sure what they were trying to accomplish and it was just as tv show, but it is unrealistic to have the entire adult cast drop everything and fly across the country for Kate.
IRL doubtful that every sib, their spouse or significant other would drop everything and arrange childcare to sit in a waiting room for 1-2 days straight if they were at a local hospital much less fly across the country for it.
Kevin's behavior was fueled by alcohol. Randall's was fueled by his 24/7 fixit complex.
The most shocking interactions were the times Beth snaped at Miguel. What did he ever do or say to her to warrant her attitude towards him? Beth never knew Jack. Jack wasn't her father. Kate isn't her sister and from what we've seen they get along okay most of the time, but didn't appear to be particularly close at.
She chose to leave her children when child care was a hot button issue a day or so before in tv time yet she got snippy with Miguel. It seeme out of character for her.
