Curious to see how this progresses. Are court procedings public if it's a minor? Will we never know if the girlfriend/daughter/stepdaughter was involved?

I thought any killing would involve charging a juvenile as an adult. You're right this is what I've read in every other case.
How does it work if the person is severely cognitively impaired. My guess is if he gets out the hospital he will have the mental capacity of someone under 5.
