They can get jobs and pay for their own food. There's nothing wrong with expecting them to provide for themselves, especially on a long-term basis. People on food stamps for years need to be encouraged to be more self-sufficient.

What will happen if 40+ million people don’t get food stamps about 10 days from now? Total monthly benefits are just under $8 billlion.
In a few short days, 40 million people are going to lose access to other people’s money!!
sounds like a positive trend.
maybe that is why Trumps approval ratings are inching upwards.

Great, then you can stop having access to other people’s money too. You can pave your own roads, provide your own fire and police and military protection, eat unregulated and untested food, homeschool all your kids, work until 80, then pay full price out of pocket for outdated medical treatments and all your retirement costs. And don’t even think about flying or visiting national parks.

People will actually pay for their own food?
And if they can't? What do you think happens then? There's no reason, in the richest country on earth, we can't guarantee food as a basic right.
Not if people are using their own money for lashes, absurd fake finger nails, hair extensions and tattoos, while my tax dollars go to pay for 2 liter Coke and chips versus actual nutrition.
Priorities need to change, even if through force.
Why do you think this is what people on snap look like??
Half of them are children. The rest are mostly elderly. Most are rural.
Psst....
They mean African American
They still believe the tired trope of the Welfare Queen.
Most SNAP are poor whites
So then how is it racist to want it cut? Can’t be both
The GOP has convinced MAGA that it’s black people who benefit. They’re in for a surprise.
I rarely go on Twitter anymore because my feed has become almost entirely MAGA trash propaganda and right wing bots, last night they were peddling a ludicrous claim that almost all SNAP goes to illegal aliens. I think a bunch of red state poor MAGAs are suddenly going to find out they've been lumped in with illegal aliens.

Even the lady with seven kids from seven men? Clearly, she’s too busy doing other stuff to work.

Subsidizing her to have more kids so hardworking people have fewer is civilizational suicide.

Well, the Pentagon can actually defend the country.
What can a bunch of SNAP recipients do for us? Other than demand to be fed, I mean?
You ever checked to see how many members of the military get SNAP benefits? It's not zero.
Active-duty military
Low participation: Participation is low, estimated at just 0.4% of active-duty military households.
Impact of BAH: If the Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) is excluded from income calculations, eligibility increases to 1.5%.
Overall numbers: While precise percentages are low, around 22,000 active-duty service members are in SNAP households.
Veterans and Reserve/National Guard
Veterans: About 7.1% of recent veterans and 6.5% of long-term veterans use SNAP. Another estimate puts the 2023 national average at 8%.
Reserve/National Guard: The highest usage rate is among Reserve and National Guard members, at approximately 9.0%.
Total numbers: Around 213,000 Reserve or National Guard members are in SNAP households.
