The club’s owner also personally played with several acting D1 coaches during her time on Team USA, and the club’s recruiting director uses her relationships to help players stand out from the pack. None of it guarantees a Cap player will place at a specific school, but combined, players have opportunities for exposure others don’t have. They help open a door - after that, it’s entirely up to the player to close the deal. It also explains why, year after year, Capital confounds its critics by routinely “over performing” based on team ranking.
+1000. Capital Orange parent. The critiques of Capital recruiting are tiresome and foolish and this post nails the “why.” The critics are mostly other (resentful) clubs trying to light a fire that doesn’t exist and/or the occasional Orange parent who is delusional and continues to insist that their Susie didn’t get that UNC spot she “deserved.” The rest of us know who that parent is from our class year and laugh about how obvious it is. Face facts, year after year Capital has delivered amazing recruiting outcomes for BOTH of its teams - something very few, if any, clubs do anywhere else in the country
