Apologies won't work and they won't help. The GOP has done far worse over many decades and they NEVER apologize. Not hurting them. Why should we give them ammo they will twist and use to plunge their knife of lies deeper and deeper.

No weakness. We need strong leaders right now to be out there, meeting with voters and focusing on (1) the GOP's incompetence and overreach and (2) the work Dems will do for voters. No flowery language or rhetoric. No lecturing. Simple slogans that appeal to people on basic issues.

Rural voters know exactly what the New York Times perspective is. It’s ubiquitous. It is we who live in a media bubble, by choice. Most of us avoid conservative media like the plague as a matter of purity principle.

Rural voters (and swing voters of all kinds) have a good understanding of what our party offers. They just don’t want it.

So we can either change, in hopes of winning more votes (and elections), or we can stay pure with our unpopular policies and remain the minority party.

If Democrats were willing to offer voters the policies they want, they could win the old fashioned way—voting. But what Dems aim to do is not what the voters want. Which leaves Democrats with only one option: war.

Do you know anything about American resistance history or are you just imaginative? I’m writing GOP reps, protesting, boycotting, donating to the media and civil rights groups, boosting Dem content on sm, leaning in to my local community, gathering informational resources, and on. [/quote]

It seems backward looking and counter-productive. The last decade of “resistance history” against Trump has helped to put us in a very deep hole. Does “resisting” deportations and bureaucrat layoffs endear us to the voters? We need ti win the long-term future more than we need to slightly slow down the party in power in tje short-term by “standing with” migrants, bureaucrats., and trans folks. So far it feels like we’re falling into Republican traps, just like we’ve been doing fir a decade.
