I don't think there's anything worse than a parent turning kids against the other parent. Even if the parent was initially in the wrong and needed to get sober and make amends for the pain he caused the family. His behavior at the time was unforgivable but he seems to have done everything possible to give the kids stability and gain his share of custody after. I remember those pictures of him flying all over for reunification visits and to visit the kids on their birthdays. She did not support reunification, no matter what she says publicly, so it never happened. She made it clear to the kids that their father caused her pain, and continued to cause her pain (through litigation etc), and taught them to continue to fear him and to be loyal to her and her alone.
My impression is that she was a needy, controlling, difficult, and humorless partner and he probably feels much lighter without her. I don't think he loves Ines, but I think he will want a happier and more fun experience with his next partner. Presuming he's worked on his own issues and unhappiness, of course. They must both have some fond memories of their highs together but since the kids basically only love her now, must be awful for him to deal with his share in that, plus resentment and anger toward her for her large part in that. Even though he was in the throes of addiction, doesn't seem she's been able to forgive him for the hurt he inflicted on her and the kids. Lots of toxicity on both sides, hard to imagine them ever being remotely amicable much less still loving each other. It's sad, honestly. Above all for the kids, who could have and should have had two loving parents in their lives.
lol he attacked one of her non-adopted children on that plane, possibly two of them (i can't remember; it's been awhile since I've read the details). It's clear he view them as lesser than his bio kids. So do you mean Angelina should have been better to deal with so Brad could have a better relationship with the bio kids?
She let the kids do whatever they want, including be disrespectful to Pitt. He was drunk and lashed out in that context, and it escalated horrifically. Raging drunks are very scary to be around. It happened that the teenagers were the adopted kids. He said he felt his job was to discipline the boys. That’s unfortunate. Do you think he’s the first parent to lose it when a kid cursed at him and told him to eff off? Especially when struggling with alcoholism? It honestly sounds like he lost his mind that day. I don’t blame her one bit for leaving him.
But he evidently tried to reconcile with all the kids once sober, and the oldest didn’t want to. And Jolie didn’t want them to. So eventually the younger kids decided they didn’t want to either. It’s not rocket science. It is, however, sad that she couldn’t forgive him and encourage the kids to forgive him once he got his act together. For everyone’s sake. See Jen Garner for an example of how a parent should behave, for the sake of the kids, once an alcoholic ex gets sober. For years Jolie said what a wonderful father and partner he was, supporting her professionally with Plan B and through health scares. The alcoholism was terrible but shouldn’t erase all that. And he deserved reasonable custodial time once sober. Like Ben A has.

I think they'll always love each other on some level. That's natural when you build a family together. i do think he has more lingering feelings that's complex because of his addiction being a major cause of the break up. It's not necessarily romantic love. It's the nostalgia, the unresolved feelings, the what it's. I don't think many people believe when he said the finalization wasnt big. That's his ego talking.
He also still speaks about their Smith movie positively too. Just recently he was playing a game of "this and that" with his movies and said filming Smith was a lot of fun. Probably the wrong chocie of words because of the affair lol but says a lot when he could've chosen to quickly brush it off.

He's always talking about her through his people sources. The last people article saying Ines was no drama was clearly aimed at Angelina. In that case neither has moved on. The next Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton.
