Nothing to see here. A supposed “gold standard” pollster released a poll with results that were a massive 16+ points off the actual election results. Way outside any margin of error. She caused the betting markets to swing towards Harris, the candidate she personally supported in the election. She should be investigated for manipulating the betting markets.

She was the most respected pollster out there. Why would she trash her reputation and career over something like this? It makes zero sense at all. The Occam's razor explanation is that she used her usual polling methods, got an outlier poll, had the integrity to publish it - which is what you are supposed to do - and since it was so wildly off, now stepping back to figure out what about her methods don't work now.

There just aren't any reasonably credible incentives you could imaging that would cause her to just make up a poll showing Harris so outrageously far ahead of Trump in Iowa if it's totally divorced from reality.

If this was a purposeful act, because she thought she could create momentum for Harris, and didn’t think Trump would win by as much as he did even if he did win. (Most people thought this was a 50-50 race.)

It's well understood that journalists and pollsters are independent. Only editorial boards are biased and that is always clearly indicated in articles.

An aide to the Democrat governor of Illinois knew the results of the poll before it was released and posted about it on Twitter. It was not a legitimate poll. It was a propaganda effort to try to boost Harris. All the betting/prediction markets started moving after she released that poll. I wonder how much money she had put down in Harris winning.
