Their newsletter says the county gave $35 mn more to APS and general assembly gave almost $10 mn more than youngkin.. PP says Youngkin tried to cut APS by about $5.7 mn.

I don’t like APE or youngkin but APS math is crappy if they can’t give teacher a better raise with more money coming in.

APS funding needs are not relative to the county budget.


There is a transfer to APS from the county budget. Yes there are other sources of funding, but this is a large source and maybe the largest (can't remember).


Yes, most of the money comes from the county, but the funding requirements are based off of enrollment, etc. Not a % of revenue.

They can give APS some arbitrary % but that doesn't mean it appropriately funds the schools.
