They’re going to say— we told you a year ago you were on the wrong path. We yelled it. We screamed it. We said it in polls. And you ignored us at your peril.
Here’s the one year warning: do better. Stop marginalizing people. Stop characterizing criticism and dissent as Trumpism.
Because no matter how many times you say “blue no matter who” you will have no one to blame but yourselves. Everyone sees this coming.
I think the polling data from the past few weeks is something the DNC won't ignore. The alarm bells are ringing. It will be interesting to see the messaging that comes out of the Biden campaign in the coming weeks. If there is any chance of Biden being convinced to back out of the race for a second term, it would be best if that decision and announcement is made much sooner than later. If Biden were replaced by a normal candidate, the RNC's hand could be forced into getting Trump off the ticket mode as they will quickly realize Trump would have zero chance against a normal Dem candidate.
I will not vote for a Democratic presidential candidate unless they present a transition team free of neocon members from the Biden and Obama admins.
But you will be happy to enable the rise of a Christian-fascist leader in the alternative. Bravo!
The lesser of two evils.
I suppose if you are a White Christian, then sure. For the rest of us, not so much.
Was it the mean tweets? Because the world was a safer, less violent and more prosperous place under Trump.
Hmm those riots at the capital were pretty peaceful as well as protests at Charlottesville with the tiki torches.
Those Tiki Torches in Charlottesville are almost quaint compared to some of the things I’ve heard people who are in MY party say about Jews like me in the last three weeks. I’m stepping back from thinking of myself as a moderate Democrat. I’ve seen what other people who also describe themselves as moderate Democrats are saying about me, and we are not the same people. I’m not even sure we’re the same species at this point. I’m no5 prone to dramatics like burning voter registration cards or anything, but I’m going to be changing the way I vote. I hope Ron DeSantis is the republican nominee next year, because if he is, I’m voting for him and will do my best to convince everyone I know to vote for him too. I might even vote for Trump, if the choice is between Trump and Biden, because the Democratic Party needs a housecleaning event and losing everything might be what’s necessary to achieve it. So be it.
I have been very curious when democrats were going to start calling out the glaring hypocrisy of their own. You have a couple dozen glassbowls parading through the night with tiki torches chanting "we will not be replaced" and democrats scream about THERE IS NO BOTH SIDES! NAZIS!
And yet in the last three weeks there has been more nazi like sentiment and behavior on the left, supporting genocide, full throated protests calling for the eradication of peoples and its been barely a shrug.
And some are actually defending the "kids" aka grown a$$ adults at elite schools that signed documents expressing joy for the carnage. I mean WTAF.
I am sure fringe white supremacist wish they could get this much adulation and support as the real Nazis are right now.
Democrats do not agree with the far left who express anti-semetic rhetoric. This isn't hard. There are racists of all stripes that Trump and MAGAism has unleashed in this country. They are the "deplorables" that the right criticized Hillary to no end about. the different, you don't see mainstream Dems embracing the rhetoric. Same cannot be said for the right.
I’m a democrat. And what’s scary is that progressive democrats fan the flames of it. You have Ilhan Omar who doesn’t even hide her anti semitism. The rest of the squad is just as bad. As a Democrat, I am in a position where we need to caucus with progressives but after the past month I cannot and will not be able to vote for them.
Jamal Bowman represents my district - I didn’t vote for him in the primary but held my nose and voted for him in 2020, but I will not vote for him again after he refused to vote for a bill condemning Hamas. Our district is probably 20% Jewish, has been redsitricted since 2020, and I sincerely hope he is primaried and loses next year.
The squad cannot be trusted when it comes to antisemitism and extremism, and it’s real problem for democrats.
I don't think AOC is a racist. I do think the other three are.
That said, it is three elected Democrats in the House. None of them are House leadership or party leadership. They are not the mainstream of the party, and certainly do not speak for the President or any of the Administration.
It is a very different scenario than the GOP, where the racist and crazy are core to the party leadership and main stream elected officials. Certainly more so than most of their voters.
Boy are you going to be shocked when you find out all the racist stuff that Biden has said. But his racism always gets dismissed as a "gaffe".
Talk about racist at the top of party leadership. Doesn't get any higher than that.
Bidens actions over the past 25 years speak louder than his words. People can evolve with their understanding of the world. Yes, Biden has said some cringy stuff. He doesn't peddle in the outright hate rhetoric of the right, or the fringe left. He is more a product of his upbringing who has adapted over changing times.
DP. But what are his actions? As a black person I can't think of anything he has done for BIPOC citizens.

You guys get that you’re not remotely believable with this stuff, right? Ping ponging from RFK to DeSantis (!) to Phillips, whose first campaign event went tragically according to the Washington Post. But sure sure. You’re all Democrats who just so happen not to care about any policies that will die if a Republican gets into office.
This was literally my first post on this thread and I am a registered democrat for many years. I think there is something cognitively wrong with Biden and don't think he was particularly bright to begin with. I morally cannot vote for someone who I don't think is physically able to do the job. I don't want some random person running the show behind the scenes so the democrats need to put up something else or they are going to lose. Gavin Newsom would be my first voice but don't see that being an option.

So this is better?
Get real. The GOP is awful on just about every issue and the nuance from topic to topic is completely lost.

They remember NOTHING, apparently.
Nothing about how he incited 1/6.
Nothing about how he leaked highly classified info to the Russians on TV.
Nothing about he put his stupid son in law in charge of the Middle East.
Nothing about how he’s currently spending most of his time shuttling around state and federal courthouses because he’s being charged with a million felonies.
Disagree with Biden on Israel? Fine.
But the choices we have are the choices we have. And to think Biden is worse than Trump is absolutely insane.
This makes me want to support Nikki Haley. I can’t stand her politics, but she is not a criminal.

NP. This reminds me that the blue-no-matter-who crowd doesn’t understand the electorate and projects its fantasies on to others. These people are committed to their bubble, their naïveté and it cripples their politics.

According to the polls, the independent voters are willing to pick Turnip over Biden.
