Wow, concur! I wonder if there's any chance she can afford on her own + child support.
Maybe Taylor will help her buy/finance it.
Speaking of which, how did Taylor happen to have an empty investment property in NY? Does it just sit empty or did she evict someone?

This is very interesting. But I wonder if it matters once he decided to end the marriage. I feel sorry for Sophie. She came so close to getting everything she wanted, and now things will be complicated and so much harder for the kids.
Agree! I feel sorry for Sophie too. I just can't believe he pulled the plug so abruptly. That's it? An argument and then straight to divorce?

I think she could still buy it on her own. Her net worth is in the low 8 figures. Maybe it would be a bad idea to buy it in cash but she could easily afford it. She’s going to continue working and the royalties on GOT aren’t going to stop anytime soon.
Might not make sense though if she's splitting custody with Joe in the US and the kids have to fly back and forth -- this place is a 2 hour drive from Heathrow, I think. If she wants to live in the UK with the kids but they will be spending many weeks and weekends in the US, this might be impractical and London home would make more sense (but also be more expensive in terms of square footage and definitely acreage -- while she could potentially afford this place on her own with the right financing, something like this closer to London could cost 5x this).
It looks amazing and as a parent of young kids, I can absolutely see what about this entire life appealed. Even without seeing the interior, it just looks charming and safe and bucolic, with lots of places for kids to run and explore on their own without having to be watched ever second, places to host extended family and kids birthday parties, etc. I want this and I want it for anyone else with kids who dreams of giving them a really slow paced, quiet, family-oriented childhood.

It doesn’t matter. Plans change…especially when something life changing happens prompting you to end your marriage.

I posted this pages ago. A legal expert said it on GMA. He basically said Sophie is grasping for a legal argument but this one won’t work.
It seems really weird that custody of the children would be decided in a place neither parent lives and where the children are not going to live.
I don’t know if England is necessarily the right place but Florida just seems wrong. It would’ve funny if the federal judge ordered them to establish residency somewhere and then file.

They are currently ordered to stay in New York. Not sure what the ties are to New York but that seems to be their current location. They listed their NYC apartment at the end of 2020 but did it sell? Maybe Joe owns other property there? I doubt he dumped all his real estate investments
