It is. For anyone who didn't click:
Two sisters, ages 10 and 13, were impregnated during rapes by the same perpetrator, authorities said. Under Ohio’s old law, the younger girl was able to get an in-state abortion, but her sister, who was too far along to get one here, traveled to Pennsylvania for the procedure, according to court records and a defense attorney involved in the case.
...
Investigators began looking into the cases last August after the girls’ grandmother noticed the 10-year-old girl’s belly growing by the day. She asked the girl’s mother, who said she believed her daughter was eating too much, according to police reports.
I'm a pediatrician. You can't diagnose a pregnancy in a child that is not brought into office. When they are finally brought in, it's not by six weeks, or eight, of even ten. Not usually.
This happens ALL THE TIME. And yes, CPS gets involved, and yes, they go after the perpetrator when he can be identified. But there are so many kids in horrible situations. Let me tell you something -- bringing more children into these situations isn't going to decrease the numbers of children raped, either.
From the same article:
Across Ohio, 52 girls under the age of 15 obtained abortions in 2020, including 11 from Cuyahoga County, according to the Ohio Department of Health’s most recent report on abortions. Since 2010, more than 1,000 girls in Ohio under the age of 15 had the procedures.
Another thing that angers me is all the forced birthers I see speaking smugly about how the pregnancy wouldn't have occurred if there were better choices made, and now they have to deal with it. The abortion stats that rile up these groups are full of children who were raped, people with medical problems, etc. That f'ing smugness? Choke on it.

1. A 10 year-old Ohio girl is raped and goes to Indiana to have an abortion.
2. Ohio AG (a Republican) goes on Fox and says the story is a "fabrication" and slams the Indiana paper that first reported it.
3. A few days later the rapist is arrested. No apology from Ohio AG.
4. Indiana AG (also a Republican) enters the picture. Says he plans to investigate the physician who performed the abortion, claiming without providing evidence that she has a history of failing to report abortions as required under Indiana law. He goes on Fox to talk about this.
5. A simple records search confirms that the physician did indeed file the required paperwork. The Indiana AG does not apologize.
So, basically, ambitious Republican AGs make up lies to gain attention, go on Fox to amplify these lies, and then when they are found to be lying, they don't apologize or clear up the misinformation they helped spread.
+1. And keep in mind that this is the environment in which doctors deciding whether to perform abortions have to operate. So, when one of these gaslighting forced birthers are claiming "well, of course the law allows an abortion in this case because the 10 year old's health is in danger," they are being grotesquely disingenuous. One of these cynical Republican AG's or maybe a Prosecutor will claim there was really no danger and the "lawless" doctor needs to be prosecuted.
The Ohio AG is still at it.

Me too. Murder, violence, threat, and lies is the “pro life” M.O. and has been for years. The truth is that these cockroaches and cowards and terrorists are operating in plain sight. Wouldn’t it be amazing if we could get our law enforcement officials to actually do something besides just crack the heads of peaceful human rights protestors?
