It seems especially cruel that the Banfield family denied V from seeing Christine's sister who is probably the person in the world who shares the most DNA with her and I assume is the most similar in looks, age, demeanor. Etc. It could have been a great comfort.

She knew about the affair, that Juliana moved into the master bedroom immediately, where Christine was killed, and that the daughter was calling her mommy. You don’t think that’s off or behaving poorly? She also did not allow the other grandparents or former Au pair to visit the child. All in the name of protecting her murderer son because of what the granddaughter may say to others. Disgusting.

DP here but as much as I hate Tess for her comments, I wonder if what truly happened is that she believed her son’s story. If she did, she probably thought CB was a cheater and Juliana saved her son from being killed by JR. Remember how BB said in one of the letters “Everyone will see you’re a hero” to Juliana?

And regarding her seeing their relationship?Same plot BB was telling the CW. It’s easier to fall in love w someone that saved your life and takes care of your daughter. That’s probably how she saw all of that. Plus, Juliana was working the entire time after what happened (She was even one of the sitters I was considering for my baby at the time). She was actively working, helping around the house (BB mentioned her helping remodel the bathroom). That’s probably why Tess was behaving like that.
We haven’t seen evidences of her talking about snitches with Juliana. I’m sure the CW would have brought that to the trial if there was any. That may be hearsay.

If she actually believed Juliana was lying and was going to help put her son away for a murder he didn't commit (IN HER MIND, of course, I am 100% convinced he is actually the murderer here, it's pretty obvious). That could explain what she said to Juliana. I think what should be most relevant is how she is raising the child, how well adjusted and happy the child is with her, and what she is saying and doing NOW, after it's clear BB and Juliana are murderers.

This. You can't blame a mother for thinking her son is innocent and believing whatever story the defense came up with. The families should not be on trial here. This was all due to one person's action. Brendan holds the ultimate responsibility for creating this plan. He fooled and manipulated a lot of people and i'm sure he was telling his family a very different version of events the whole time. Now let's hope that V will get the support and therapy she needs.

Yes, you can. My son did bad things, and I looked at the evidence and it seared my heart. But it was true. I will always love him, but I did not enable or support him. I offered as much psychiatric help as I could, and did everything within my power to protect him from himself and keep him from hurting others. The idea that parents, especially mothers of sons, can’t and shouldn’t be expected to face reality is toxic. My other children are not like this. I don’t know why my son is and I didn’t see it coming. No one did. But when he got caught I did not deny the evidence.

These defenses of Tess are absolutely bizarre to me. At the least she mounted a campaign of harassment against JRs family, and made CB out to be the villain. She has kept the child from her mother’s family. At the least.

I wish Christine’s family would shut down or make private her social media. People are commenting on her pictures things that aren’t quite appropriate that her daughter will see one.

I just got around to reviewing the evidence. A question for those who work in the court system. Why wasn’t Valerie‘s face redacted/blocked out in the defense’s pictures of her with BB?

I guess I understand the jury being shown her image but I don’t think the public at large needs to know what she looks like.

DP here. What we saw was a news headline. That evidence was never even mentioned at trial. And even if, of course a testimony from Juliana would damage BB’s case. She could believe her murderer son was innocent but and still try to fight for him, knowing if Juliana “lied” it would be terrible for him.

I think it comes to a point where she’s like “could he have done it? I can’t believe it but I must protect him”

Perhaps you did not actually listen to the news report, but it was evidence presented by the CW at the hearing, these hearings took place in the months and year before the trial.

previous poster was defender her. I suspect it's big momma again. However if not then I want to add to what you just said about living in the murder house and other things. Tess has intentionally kept her granddaughter away from Christines grandparents. I do know this to be true. She is a vile woman in EVERY single respect. I don't believe in families of killers being responsible for the killer in their family. I do believe in this case Tess is part of the problem, including threatening JPM to keep her quiet. Why should any of us not call her out on this forum or anywhere? The apple in this case doesn't fall far from the tree.

I'm so sorry- I'm truly not trying to defend her in that sense. I don't know her or anyone involved. If you know them, you obviously know more than me and your opinion is more relevant. I just hear what's in the news and what's in the news is this kid who has lost literally everyone and there is no public evidence that the woman she's with right now is cruel to her or brainwashing her or anything like is being said on here. (Obviously the stuff she said online right after the murders was terrible, but that was LIKELY before she knew what really happened). BB was the one keeping family from his kid- he had full control of that- and now that he HOPEFULLY will lose all legal custody, if his mother continues to refuse other family to have access to visiting her, then that's a totally different ballgame and hopefully wouldn't be allowed.

I guess one thing you said sort of explains why I feel off about everyone demanding this woman lose custody of the kid, and that is that it seems a lot of people think she should lose custody because her son is the murderer. I think that's a dangerous precedent. I don't know anything honestly, like I said, I'm just uncomfortable with the bandwagon of assuming this woman is just as bad as her murdering son if the kid is actually doing ok under her care.

Again- if she continues to not let any of her other family see her, then she needs the kid taken away because that's ridiculous.
