Tray With An A was the single worst pastor and preacher I ever had the misfortune of meeting. His sermons seemed like they were cobbled together last minute. They were disjointed, meandering messes with no point.

He tried to be funny from the pulpit, rarely succeeding, and when he did, only accidentally.

Face to face he was dismissive, and unprofessional, always looking over your shoulder like HE was too cool for school, LOL. And he was very very rude, once publicly labeling those members in his church not immediately on the new affirmation Jen Train as “asshats”. And also Jen’s most devoted fans as “corn-eaters” cause they’d eat the corn out of her %#}^.

What a shepherd of the faithful.

Pure class.

Both Jen and Tyler strike me as huge try-yards. Imagine being close to fifty and STILL trying so hard every single day to present yourself to the outside as hip, cool, edgy, totally crushing it in all the things?

It’s a weird vibe when you see your teen do this from close up as a parent. In people about to get their AARP cards, though, it’s deeply weird.

These are some strange strange people.

Big Sis selling sex tips to her tribe is so ridiculous. Post Capitalism, hustle culture, face it to you make it at its grossest.

Didn’t Big Bro say on a podcast that he and Big Sis (er, this doesn’t quite work, does it?) didn’t have sex the three years leading up to their separation. No intimacy?

No she’s going to help y’all out discover your sex sandbox.

Her kids and parents must be so proud. The apple of their eye.

A couple of things I do know:
One, Trey spoke at dale lear’s funeral. Dale had left the church for the same reasons as our family. But Trey continued a relationship with him. I’m guessing his kids ask him to be a part of his funeral. I was there so I know this to be true.
Two, I’m not Jen’s biggest fan either, and hate all the shilling, but she was always great with the homeless community when I was at the grillouts. Always giving giant hugs and in deep conversation with people I was scared to get too close to. I’ve seen her put shoes on some nasty feet when we did our Easter shoe giveaways. She has a lot of flaws, but I’ve only witnessed her seeming to really love people.

Yes, Jen was really good *when the cameras were on*. I’ll give you that. She still is, unless she’s talking about Remy of course. Then the mask slips.

I don’t doubt any of this, because I think she sees herself as the hero in every story. That’s not live though.

Listen, I'm just as critical as Big Sis as the next poster on here. But if I've learned one thing from reading this board, it's that some of you need to stop clutching your pearls and masturbate once in a while. So maybe the sex Me Course might be a good investment for those of you.......and also a vibrator.

So she’s advertising her next Me Course. (Me course, me camp, me me me).

It’s a sex course. You can learn about your erotic sandbox. I don’t know whether to 🙄 or 😬 or 🤣.

Ex ANCer here, one of the early birds with several other once foundational families that were critical in joining with the Hatmakers and Pruets to launch ANC.

The thing to keep in mind is that a lot of people felt very betrayed by the Hatmakers (and the Pruets) when it eventually became really evident that Jen was all about Jen and that her dreams of stardom and fame were consuming the oxygen of that little church. And that this was the whole point all along. Another if Jen’s grifts.

Many dear and sweet people really did buy into the mission of the original church, a Christian church preaching a living Gospel to those in the margins of a city we all loved.

Here he out. We were duped. All of us.

Now, every single one of those foundational families no longer go there. Not one. Even the die hards ride of dies with Jen, apart from the Pruets.

Heck, no Hatmaker even goes there anymore.

It’s just Tray with an A and that weird suck up they with the dumb hats and turquoise jewelry the Hatmakers hired from Joel Osteen and a dwindling skeleton crew.

Jason Morriss tried to tie himself to the Hatmaker star. He thought he’d become famous and relevant or something. Be with the cool kids. Get book deals. Talk about a terrible terrible misscalculation.

ANC is a sad shell of what it once was, a sad cautionary tale of something that was once beautiful but became corroded by legit real corruption* pride and arrogance.

*If anyone even cared anymore read about how the elders did the church were as surprised by Jen’s October announcement as everyone else reading about it online despite the leaders insistence that they had all been “studying and praying” about it for over a year. People had to scramble, they were totally in the dark. A total lie. But Jen had to be served first. Always Jen. And don’t even get me started on how they all rested a beloved elder who grieved for what was happening and who soon died tragically of cancer. That’s a whole other tragedy.

These people are toxic monsters. Real wolves in sheep’s clothing.

I am curious- where was Brandon in all this when Jen's career was taking off? Was he still preaching regularly and holding down the fort while she was speaking on the road? In the podcast interview with Jamie and Kristen, they were describing Jen as someone who had to shine a spotlight on Brandon when they were all together.

It was in his or one of Jen's books where he describes having a very vivid spiritual experience himself, a vision of serving the poor in Austin. That very day he gave away a pair of new, expensive cowboy boots to a needy guy in response to the vision (which took place at a church where Shane Claiborne was a guest speaker)
