Why is she posting a video from when she was home and the teenager had stolen all of her sparkling water?! Isn’t she at ME camp? Where she’s thinking about only ME and how I can attract to be in my stories and posts? Is this only weird to me that she chooses to post this story right now?

Jen would be a great instructor if she can make peace with having a smaller audience. She would be a phenomenal mentor to a smaller group of would-be authors, bloggers, etc. She has serious chops and cred and like you all said, it would be so much better for her overall health. Plus offload the big tire around her neck named Tyler.

She should get off the 24/7 Influencer/Shill treadmill, take a looooong break from the socials, chuck Big Sass, reconnect with her family, especially Remi, and get real therapy with a real therapist who isn't also a business partner.

Then, and only then, look at getting a teaching position as an instructor at a nearby university in their journalism and media department while also doing freelance writing on topics of interest in her old humorous style.

She would probably be great at that and has a lot to say about the new media environment used to be a teacher anyway so it wouldn't be too much of a stretch.

Her current direction is painful and pointless and super unhealthy.
She will feel and look so much better and have way more peace in her life.

Realistically, the best way for Jen to make a comeback is to actually go away for a while and live a life not dictated by social media algorithms and desperation. Me Camp is bs when everything is planned around follower engagement.

I still find it fascinating how even with the major celebrity endorsements she got for her cookbook (Jennifer Garner, Joanna Gaines, Ree Strummond), her biggest media appearance was The Sherri Sheppherd Show. Clearly Jen has friends in high places but I guess they don’t believe she has enough charisma to succeed in bigger projects. If I were Jen, I would put my efforts into legitimate therapy, acting classes and media training rather than running myself ragged with low hanging fruit If she’s gonna fake everything, she should do it a lot better.

They should be.

Don’t they have his book as his book of the month in her book club?

Okay this criticism is going too far. I don’t know any steadily employed adult who hasn’t had to suck it up and kiss ass sometimes. Even the self-employed have clients. Bad behavior from Bill Gates, we can call out but Melinda is a divorced woman. Judge her on her own merits, not her ex-husband’s.

I occasionally look at the hatmaker snark Reddit page. Several days ago someone posted that after Jen’s last Legacy begging for money post a few weeks ago, she had only raised $875 for June.

The Legacy Collective is OPM, Other People’s Money, basically a charity broker.

Jen just acts as the queenmaker and cuts the checks as a middleman but is then able to use the grants to highlight herself and her “brand” and bask in the glow. So lots of supply.

Meanwhile instead of people just writing checks direct to the charities of their choice they are paying for overhead and administration expenses to allow Jen to get a lot of supply.

All of it is supply. People’s suffering and disease is just supply to put on a resume and then supply for Jen to talk about it to make it seem like she cares so people can think that she cares. (Why is Jen host of this podcast? Is shilling and rambling about shallow things make her an advocate and philanthropist?) What does Jen do and have done in these areas other than just constantly post herself and arrange words about it sometimes? The only thing that could count as experience might be her Legacy Collective which just comes across again, like supply, mostly an ego project that she doesn’t do any real type of work or have any experience in those areas?

People from her former church have posted how she exaggerated and made up stuff about how involved she was in her their church’s outreach and homeless work. The church her and Brandon planted and led.

I agree with an above poster that she’s likely a pathological liar. I think quite a few of these influencer types are. The constant spinning narratives and embellishing and self -centering demands a lie half or nearly most of the time.

Hmmm, I wonder if any of these "random" encounters and invitations have anything to do with her PR person pitching this as publicity for New Hope? Either that or Jen telling everyone she meets that she is an influencer.

As an experiment I made my mother in law read Jen’s most recent MeCamp report and tell me what she thought, no lead up or preamble.

She is 73, whip smart, a retired Classics professor who barely uses social media of an any kind, and has no idea who Jen Hatmaker is.

She dutifully read my tablet, pursed her lips, and said some of these things after rereading the post:

This seems like an unstable woman.
Is she on meds?
This reads like a tragicomedy. Or a parody. A work of fiction.
Is she a friend of yours? Have I met her? I’m sure I would have remembered someone like this.

Her and Glennon! They report these fantastical stories that have no truth whatsoever !
