I follow the 09 teams in our area since I have a son that age and thought Bethesda would challenge for a champions league spot by finishing top two. Then with the expansion of the playoffs, I thought they'd be a shoo-in for champions league but they are on the outside looking in.

Looking at just the talent in the area for 09G, could the DMV put together a team to compete against Match Fit or PDA?

Bethesda had some poor results this fall. Arlington is clearly the second best team around.

Well good morning to the both of you. Call me triggered, that's fine, I really don't care. I'm just defending DDs team from individuals who are out of touch or making things up and you seem to be one of them. Easiest way to combat critical PPs are to use statistical facts based on strength of schedule. I monitor this site often to keep liars, trolls, and others in line. It gets old since Bethesda is on of the more hated clubs around.

Back on subject. First off, Bethesda has no bench and were stuck with only 2 subs most of the season due to injuries. Second off, there are standout players but I would never single them out. That comment is just silly and shows that you obviously have little experience with our team.

Since November we have already added two high quality players. The girls love DG even though he still can be tough at times. The players are diverse and get along better than almost any team I have seen. As with any team, nothing is perfect but I 90% are more than happy with the current atmosphere. I understand that can change over time but for now it's great.

I don't mind debating a teams success and failures or style of play, but be prepared to give strong examples if you want to debate about the Bethesda 09s. I know the wins, losses, who is strong, who is not, and how other teams compare. It's not hard to do when you YSR combined with basic common sense of sports statistics. The information YSR gives is very similar to some in NCAA FBS Strength of Schedule and Ken Pom.

Please leave the 2009 Bethesda Girls team alone. If they start losing to lower ranked teams, then sure, ask questions as to why. I'll be here to answer. Disclaimer - I am not an English major so no need to call the English Forum Police or Spelling Forum Police.

Can we go back to talking about BRYC losing ECNL?

Pipeline also has a better record against better teams than Arlington, Union, and VDA despite having a rough fall!

The only team in the DMV that did better is Loudoun. No other team in the DMV can even compare based on strength of schedule. It's not even close. 15 games played against Top 100 teams with 5 wins versus Arlington's 3 games played and zero Top 100 wins. Please don't make me explain how strength of schedule works again, instead, please google it. It's not rocket science. I welcome you to come back and claim ownership of #2 or #1 once you beat Loudoun this Spring. Until then you have no leg to stand on.

That is an extremely shallow point to make. Taking one game and measuring how good a team is just by that. Just how shallow, by that measurement, the WFT is one of the best teams in the NFL since they beat the Buccaneers. Or, Crystal Palace must be better than Man City after they won earlier this year. Not surprising Bethesda is struggling on the bigger field. Beating a depleted Union team 2-0 and to tie MD United is all you need to know.
